The O-Train will be out of service on Saturday while preparations continue for the launch of the eastern extension of Line 1 from Blair Station to Trim Station next year.

Transit Services general manager Renée Amilcar says testing for the O-Train East extension will require the full closure of the line on Saturday.

“This temporary closure is required for system integration testing of train control software to allow for seamless travel on the extended line,” Amilcar said in a memo to Council.

R1 bus service will operate between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations on Saturday between 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Line 1 service will resume as scheduled on Sunday.

This is the latest closure of the O-Train to allow for testing of the eastern extension of the O-Train.   Staff have been testing the Train Control System, along with high-speed data radio, camera, and passenger information systems.
