A Winnipeg homeowner is revving up the holiday spirit for people passing his house this winter.

Lendrum Keast has sculpted a race car out of snow in front of his home on Aberdeen Avenue.

“(I choose) whatever I feel will be a challenge or unique,” he said in an interview.

It is the ninth year Keast has created a sculpture in his yard, with previous designs being the coronavirus and the Grinch. He took last year off due to the lack of snow.

Keast said the biggest challenge each year is figuring out what people want to see, and having the patience to let the sculpture harden.

“That actually took a long time, took a lot longer than I thought, something like 10 days,” he said. “And we’re talking long days, eight in the morning to eight at night.”

Keast said he plans to add more sculptures through the winter.
