North Vancouver home raided in drug trafficking investigation [Video]

A raid of a home in North Vancouver last month yielded a significant amount of drugs and guns, according to authorities, who say two children were present when the home was searched.

The investigation began in September when officers were tipped off by concerned community members about “suspicious activity consistent with drug trafficking,” the North Vancouver RCMP said in a news release Thursday.

On Nov. 1, a search warrant was executed at the home on the 900 block of Lynn Valley Road, prompting a partial lockdown of a nearby school, police said.

The seized illicit substances included one kilogram of heroin, 3.6 kilograms of synthetic cannabinoid, 295 grams of a fentanyl analog and 205 grams of methamphetamine. Three handguns, a rifle and a sawed-off shotgun were confiscated, along with a number of knives, swords, and brass knuckles. Pills, cash and stolen property were also found.
