A woman is dead and a second person is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a double-stabbing in Surrey early Saturday morning.
Surrey police said the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit was called to a home in the 14700 block of 108A Avenue around 3 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Officers from both the Surrey Police Service and the RCMP attended and found two people suffering from life-threatening injuries, the SPS said in a news release.
“Despite life saving measures, one woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene,” police said. “The second victim was transported to hospital and remains in serious condition.”
The Lower Mainland’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation and is working closely with the SPS and RCMP “to complete priority tasks,” police said.
