Winnipeg police arrest suspect in break and enters [Video]

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) arrested the suspect in a number of break and enters following a car chase with a stolen vehicle last week.

The incident began around 11:35 p.m. on Friday when officers saw a stolen 2013 Toyota Corolla being driven near Harbison Avenue West and Brazier Street. The car had been stolen from the 200 block of Watt Street on Dec. 8.

Officers called in additional units, including Air 1, which followed the stolen car into the Glenelm, Elmwood, Talbot-Grey and East Kildonan-Transcona areas.

According to the WPS, the suspect continued driving until he stopped at Werrell Crescent and Tu-Pelo Avenue where he got out of the car and ran. He was arrested in the first 100 block of Ravenhill Road.

Police noted that during the 25-minute chase, the suspect drove in a manner that was “dangerous to the general public.” No one was hurt and nothing …
