Police are looking for a Taser that went missing on Yorkshire Avenue in Dartmouth, N.S., Monday night.

Halifax Regional Police say an officer was on a foot pursuit when their Taser became loose and fell from its holster.

Officers searched the area minutes later but couldn’t find it.

Police believe someone has taken the Taser and they are asking for help from the public to find it.

They point out it is illegal for members of the public to possess police-issued equipment.

Halifax police are asking anyone with information or video from the area to call them at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
