Multiple Edmonton schools and three Red Deer schools were among those across the country that received hoax bomb threats on Monday.

Edmonton Police Service on Tuesday confirmed “a number” of schools throughout the capital city received bomb threats.

In Red Deer, administration at St. Joseph’s High School, St. Francis of Assisi Middle School and Pines Alternative School all received emailed threats, according to RCMP.

None of the threats were found to be credible.

Alberta RCMP’s early investigation suggests the emails came from outside of Canada.

Several schools in Calgary, a school in Lethbridge, and two schools in Winnipeg also received threats. Authorities in all cities either determined there was no imminent risk or, after investigating, cleared the schools to open.
