An Oshawa mom discovered bullet holes in her daughter’s dresser and in the ceiling of her living room early Wednesday morning after police say more than a dozen shots were “indiscriminately” fired at a housing complex overnight.
Police said the shots rang out at a housing complex in the area of Mary Street North and Taunton Road at around 2:05 a.m.
According to Durham Regional Police Chief Peter Moreira, 14 shots were fired but no injuries were reported.
Moreira said it is “very lucky” that no one was hurt.
“Families were home sleeping while one or more coward(s) fired indiscriminately,” Moreira wrote in a statement on social media.
Gabby Boileau told CTV News Toronto that she was scrolling through her phone with her headphones on when the shots were fired.
