Operation Red Nose short on volunteers [Video]

With three major weekends ahead for holiday events, Operation Red Nose is calling for more volunteers to help ensure people get home safe.

Elisha Dacey, the volunteer media liaison with Operation Red Nose, said they are currently falling short on volunteer totals.

“Last weekend was probably the most hectic. At one point we had, I believe, 30 requests in the queue, and we only had nine teams that evening to go help them all. So it was a long wait,” said Dacey.

Each Operation Red Nose team consists of three people – one to drive the caller’s car home and two to drive with the caller.

Dacey said they would ideally like to have 20 teams of three – roughly 100 more volunteers.
