A temporary fire station officially opened in Winnipeg’s Waverley West on Thursday.

According to the City of Winnipeg, a four-person fire crew, two-person paramedic crew, as well as a fire engine and an ambulance, will operate out of the modular station.

The temporary station will help reduce emergency response times in the area until a permanent station is built.

The city noted that the station is made up of modular parts that can be disassembled and reassembled in another area when it is no longer needed in Waverley West.

The temporary station is located at 130 Eaglewood Dr.
