Charlottetown Police Services said they arrested a suspect involved in a hit and run investigation after receiving help from the public.
On Thursday, officers followed up on a tip that led to the arrest of an 18-year-old Charlottetown man. Police seized the vehicle involved in the crime and the man was charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, said a police news release.
The accused was released and will appear in court in January.
Police said the crime occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m., Dec. 4 when the car collided with a pedestrian on Richard Drive. Evidence was collected at the scene.
The victim of the collision, a 54-year-old Charlottetown male, sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
