Nearly a year after a 19-year-old woman was shot and killed in Mississauga, Peel police have yet to arrest the person responsible, prompting them to renew their appeal for information.

Homicide investigators on Saturday repeated their call for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the murder of Raneilia Richards.

Richards was fatally struck by stray bullets while standing with her boyfriend and sister outside an event space near Dixie Road and Eglinton Avenue on the morning of Dec. 31, 2023.

Police later found the vehicle used in the shooting but have not located the driver or occupants.

Investigators have not released any suspect information.

“As the one-year anniversary of the Raneilia Richards homicide approaches, investigators are once again asking for assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice,” police said in a news release on Saturday.

A $100,000 reward has been offered for information leading investigators to the suspects in the shooting deaths of Richards and 24-year-old Jackline Gore.
