Winter weather travel advisory: Snow coming to GTA on Monday [Video]

Monday’s commute to and from work could be a snowy one for people throughout the GTA.

On Sunday evening, Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory for several parts of the region, including Toronto, Mississauga-Brampton, Burlington-Oakville, Caledon, Halton Hills-Milton, Newmarket-Georgina-Northern York Region, Pickering-Oshawa-Southern Durham Region, and Vaughan-Richmond Hill-Markham.

The national weather agency is calling for snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 centimetres and is warning of low visibility in areas where the snow is heavier snow.

The snowfall is expected to start on Monday morning and last until Monday night with a possible break in the afternoon.

It is expected to taper off to flurries by the evening with a risk of freezing drizzle, the agency added.
