SPVM investigating possible arson attack in Saint-Leonard [Video]

Montreal police (SPVM) confirmed that a vehicle was set on fire in the Saint-Leonard borough early Sunday morning.

According to police, a 911 call was made around 1:15 a.m. reporting that a vehicle was on fire on Champ-d’Eau Street near Bombardier Street.

When police arrived on the scene, firefighters were already bringing the blaze under control.

“The vehicle was a total loss. There was no damage to the adjacent properties,” said an SPVM spokesperson.

Police said no incendiary objects were found on the scene. The circumstances that led to the incident are currently unknown.

The vehicle was towed and will be analyzed.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
