Two men arrested after break-and-enter at West Broadway home in Winnipeg [Video]

Two Winnipeg men are facing at least a dozen charges after a break-and-enter at a home in the city’s West Broadway neighbourhood.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Middle Gate around 1 a.m. Sunday for a reported break-and-enter.

When police arrived, they found two men that matched the suspects’ description near East Gate and Blanchard Avenue. Both men were taken into custody.

After police completed a search of the two suspects, they found a rifle, rounds of ammunition, a knife, methamphetamine, a folder of collectible stamps and a screwdriver. Police also discovered $2,500 worth of Australian currency, as well as CA$225.

A 44-year-old man is facing several weapon-related charges along with possessing a scheduled substance. He, along with a 34-year-old man, also faces a break-and-enter theft charge.

The two men were detained in custody. The charges have not been tested in court.
