The Calgary Flames coaching staff got a shakeup Sunday when Wranglers head coach Trent Cull was asked to take over as an assistant on a temporary basis.
Due to family reasons, assistant coach Brad Larsen has taken an indefinite leave of absence since Dec.8.
Cull, who is in his second season as the Wrangler bench boss, will fill in in the meantime. He has coached in the AHL for 15 years and previously served as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks in 2022-23.
“Our priority is to provide Brad and his family with continued support during this period when they need it most,” said Flames General Manager Craig Conroy.
