Mounties in Langley say they saved Christmas for one family after a Grinch stole their presents from under the tree.

According to the detachment, on Dec. 22 police started investigating a break and enter at a home in the 26500 block of 28A Avenue. Reportedly, multiple suspects broke into the home in the early hours of the morning and took several wrapped gifts.

“The story of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas had tragically become a reality for this family, therefore we employed several investigative techniques which enabled us to track the thieves down,” said spokesperson Cpl. Zynal Sharoom in a news release Wednesday.

Police said they recovered the presents, re-wrapped them and returned them to the family.

The investigation into the Grinch-like theft is ongoing, police said, asking anyone with information to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and reference file number 2024-41544.
