Regina police investigate bear spray incident on city bus, teen facing charge [Video]

A 13-year-old is facing a weapons charge after a bear spray incident on a city bus on Tuesday evening.

Officers were called to Broad Street and 12th Avenue around 6:50 p.m. for a report that a group of youth entered a city bus and deployed what appeared to be bear spray, according to a release from the Regina Police Service (RPS).

EMS provided medical attention to passengers affected by the spray. Officers located a youth matching the suspect description and was found to be in possession of bear spray, police said.

The 13-year-old, who cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

The teen made their first appearance in Provincial Youth Court on Thursday morning.
