19-year-old Quebecer dead after collision in Saint-Calixte [Video]

A 19-year-old man died following a collision between two vehicles late on Friday morning on route 335 in Saint-Calixte, Lanaudière.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reports that the collision occurred around 11 am, not far from Lake Brien.

According to the police, the two vehicles, a car and a van, collided for as yet undetermined reasons and two people were injured.

Both were taken to hospital. The 19-year-old driver succumbed to his injuries. The other driver, a man in his fifties, suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries.

Route 335 had been closed in the vicinity of the accident so that police can analyse the scene and understand the causes and circumstances of this tragedy. Traffic was restored at 5 p.m.
