A woman is facing seven charges after allegedly committing multiple hit-and-run crashes in a stolen vehicle while impaired, according to police in B.C.’s capital.
The Victoria Police Department is now looking for additional witnesses and victims as it continues its investigation of Judyann Marie Desjarlais.
The woman, who is 38 years old according to online court records, appeared in court on Christmas Day and was charged with the following offences, according to VicPD:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
- Failure to stop
- Operation of a conveyance while impaired by alcohol or drugs
- Driving while prohibited
- Possession of stolen property
- Breach of probation
The offences allegedly occurred on Christmas Eve.
Just before noon that day, VicPD officers received a report of a “motor vehicle incident” near the intersection of Heywood and Oliphant avenues, the department said in a news release Friday.
