The OPP is reminding to celebrate the new year responsibly Tuesday night.

Police reminded on social media to plan ahead to get home safely and that impaired driving is a criminal charge.

OPP will be out conducting RIDE checks throughout the night. If you are looking for a safe way to get home, plan for a designated driver or take an Uber, taxi or rideshare service home.

You are also reminded to watch out for others and stop anyone you know from driving impaired.

If you see any drivers you suspect may be impaired, report it to the police immediately.
