Police investigate suspicious deaths in Halifax [Video]

Police are investigating a pair of suspicious deaths that took place on New Year’s Eve in Halifax, said a Tuesday new release.

At approximately 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) responded to a report that there was an injured person in the area of 2406 Gottingen Street.

Officers found a deceased woman and an unresponsive man when they arrive on the scene. The man was transported to the QE2 hospital with life-threatening injuries, said the release. The man was later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victims is still unknown, said police.

Police closed Gottingen Street to traffic between Uniacke Street and Charles Street for the investigation. The Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is working with forensic identification officers to process the scene.
