“He’s now bigger than life and pretty much runs the place.” Squiggy’s life changed when the clinic in Maine where he was a patient gave him a second chance.

BRUNSWICK, Maine — Owning a pet with special medical needs can exhaust both your finances and mental health. 

For some, it can reach a point where caring for the pet is no longer an option. One such cat found a new home at the very animal clinic where he was a patient.

“He’s now bigger than life and pretty much runs the place,” Dr. Kathy Seymour, medical director at Sunray Animal Clinic in Brunswick, said.

Squiggy the cat has been living at the clinic or about a year. “I think we so enjoy him, and he so enjoys us,” Seymour said. “So, it goes both ways.”
