At least two babies in Quebec were born at the strike of midnight on Wednesday.

In Montreal, a baby boy was born exactly at 12 a.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital, the CIUSSS de l’Ouest de l’île announced on Facebook.

The boy, named Aryan, was the CIUSSS’ first baby of the year.

In Quebec City, a boy was born at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université Laval (CHUL) at 12 a.m. on Jan. 1, the CHU de Québec said in a press release.

The baby boy, named Giovani-Munga, weighed nine pounds.

“The CHU would like to extend its warmest congratulations to the new parents and wish them every happiness,” the press release said.
