A 26-year-old man is facing a murder charge in connection to a suspicious death in Saint John, N.B., on Christmas Eve.

Officers found Nicsy Arboleda Rodriguez, 30, lying unconscious on the road in the 600-block area of Lancaster Avenue at 4:10 a.m. on Dec. 24, according to a news release from the Saint John Police Force. She went to hospital with severe injuries and was pronounced dead.

Police arrested an unnamed man on Thursday. He remains in custody and will appear in court on Jan. 3.

The victim and the accused were known to each other.
