The City of Edmonton will begin clearing residential roads on Tuesday.

A Phase 2 parking ban was announced Friday. It will come into effect Jan. 7 at 7 a.m.

Crews will be working in residential areas 24-hours a day while the ban is active. That work is expected to take about 10 days, depending on the weather.

Individual neighbourhoods will be affected for about 72 hours at a time. During that period, all vehicles must be removed from roadways and any that aren’t may be ticketed.

The city said crews will remove rutted and uneven conditions on residential roads, while maintaining a five-centimetre snowpack.

Residents are advised to watch for signage in their area to indicate when work will be taking place. A residential snow clearing map will also be available on the city’s website
