Quebec’s Health and Social Service Ministry is monitoring a measles outbreak in the Montreal, Laval and Laurentians regions.
Ministry spokesperson Marie-Pierre Blier confirmed that four cases have been confirmed in Quebec residents in connection with an outbreak that began in Dec. 11 in Sainte-Therese, Saint-Eustache, Deux-Montagnes, Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Laval and Montreal.
In addition, anyone who was on the Laurentians EXO line no. 88 or no. 9 buses on Dec. 24 should monitor their symptoms.
“According to the information available to public health, these cases are epidemiologically linked and acquired the disease in Quebec, the first case having been exposed via a person residing outside Canada who travelled to Quebec during the contagious period before being diagnosed,” said Blier.
Those who were at the locations on the map at the times noted should monitor their symptoms until mid-January.
