4 days into 2025, 34 cars stolen in Mississauga and Brampton [Video]

Since 2023, stolen vehicles have been a growing concern for residents in Mississauga and Brampton. With less than a week into 2025, the trend shows no sign of slowing, with over 30 incidents already reported.

From Jan. 1 to Jan. 5 Peel Regional Police data indicates a combined 34 vehicle thefts were reported across both cities — 14 in Mississauga and 20 in Brampton.

As of Jan. 5, only one stolen vehicle case had been successfully solved, 32 are still being investigated and one was deemed unsolved.

The data also highlights the top common hotspot for car thefts in Peel region:

  • Great Lakes Drive—four occurrences

While police haven’t released many stolen vehicle reports this early in the year, here are some notable incidents from 2024:
