Mounties on Vancouver Island are looking for information as they investigate the death of a Campbell River man.

Arron Mooney was found deceased “prior to Christmas Day,” Campbell River RCMP said in a news release Wednesday, more than two weeks after the fact.

The detachment did not say who found Mooney’s body or exactly when or where it was discovered, nor did police elaborate on why they’re investigating his death.

CTV News has reached out to Campbell River RCMP for more information and this story will be updated if a response is received.

The detachment shared two photos of Mooney and asked anyone who knew him or saw him between Dec. 17 and 22 to call it at 250-286-6221 and ask to speak to someone from the Major Crime Unit.
