18-year-old charged after crashing into Ontario Premier Ford [Video]

An 18-year-old Oshawa man has been charged with dangerous driving after a collision with a car driven by the OPP’s Protective Services Division with Ontario Premier Doug Ford riding as a passenger.

The Oshawa man and a passenger in his vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries and released. Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the OPP’s Highway Safety Division said the occupants of Ford’s vehicle – including the Premier himself – were unharmed.

The accident happened near Brock Road in Pickering about 12:30 p.m.

The driver of the first vehicle, who was not named, will be in court in Oshawa February 20, Schmidt said.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are asking anyone with dashcam footage to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
