FORT ST. JOHN –A Fort St. John man is celebrating a major career milestone with the BC Emergency Health Service (BCEHS).
Speaking with CJDC-TV, John Te Bulte reflected on his 40 years with the ambulance service.
His career began with a chance first-aid course, which opened the door to additional examinations and licensing prerequisites.
During a first-aid competition, he was approached by a team captain for a job opportunity that led him to join the community of Fruitvale in 1984, where he served for 15 years. He then moved to Revelstoke before coming to Fort St. John, where he has been for the past 20 years.
Te Bulte took on the role of Unit Chief in 2022 and now oversees a team of 32 paramedics to ensure their station operations run smoothly.
