Leamington, for those of you who aren’t familiar, is a lovely little town with about 31,000 residents (read: 31,000 potential Channel 3 viewers).

LEAMINGTON, ON — Leamington, for those of you who aren’t familiar, is a lovely little town with about 31,000 residents (read: 31,000 potential Channel 3 viewers). This place is often referred to as the “Tomato Capital of Canada,” which means the town’s full of greenhouses—like, a ridiculous amount—and it’s also home to Point Pelee National Park, which, by the way, is the southernmost point of mainland Canada. That’s right, folks, if you’re standing there, you’re technically closer to Cleveland than you are to Toronto. So, naturally, I had to pay a visit.

I met up with Dan Dufour, a Parks Canada naturalist who has way more knowledge about nature than I could ever hope to absorb – including the fact that the park is home to five different types …
