This week’s recalls highlight the importance of checking your home for potentially dangerous products. Ontario residents are advised to watch for defective battery chargers, unsafe torch lighters and tabletop fireplaces linked to fire and burn hazards.

The C240 battery chargers, sold for charging lithium-ion batteries, are being recalled due to a defect posing potential safety risks.

The affected chargers are black and feature two blue screens labelled 1 and 2, with the model identifier “C240 DUO” printed between the screens. The brand name “HTRC” is displayed in the bottom left corner of the device.

Consumers can identify the recalled chargers by the serial number 6042201 and the UPC 634383921487.

The company reported that 3,000 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between 2021 and 2024.

Risks: Potential fire and burn hazards.

What you should do: Stop using the recalled product and contact the company for instructions on safe disposal and for a full refund.
