Thousands of printers that were sold in Canada are being recalled because officials say they pose a fire risk.

“A metal part inside the printers may dislodge, posing a fire hazard,” Health Canada said.

As of Dec. 12, the company hasn’t received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada, the notice said.

However, in the United States, there have been two reports of overheating including one reported fire, officials said. No injuries were reported.

Health Canada said that Lexmark specialty printers with the model numbers MS725dvn and MX725adve are the recalled products.

They’re white on the front and black on the top and sides.

The model number is on the top cover / door.

Consumers were advised to immediately stop using the printers and contact Lexmark to get a free repair part.

There were 4,096 sold in Canada from June 2018 to November 2024.
