A man who had been reported missing was found dead at the scene of a crash in Ontario Friday morning, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a sedan on St. John’s Road West in Simcoe, Norfolk County, at 9:37 a.m.

“The driver, a 37-year-old resident of Norfolk County, sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” OPP said.

The vehicle was located off the roadway by a passing motorist, police said.

The victim was an individual who had been reported missing on Thursday.

In a previous news release, officers said that they responded to an address on Brown Street in Port Dover to investigate a report of a missing person.
