More frigid weather is on the way for southern Ontario, with snow and icy conditions set to move in as temperatures dip below -18 C.

For early risers hoping to catch the sunrise, Sunday’s 7:44 a.m. view will likely be hidden behind overcast skies.

Residents across Mississauga, Brampton, Durham, Hamilton and Halton can expect mainly cloudy conditions throughout the day. Morning temperatures will feel bitterly cold, with wind chills ranging from minus 16 to minus 18.

In Mississauga and Brampton, flurries have a 40 per cent chance of arriving late in the morning and into the afternoon, with winds remaining light at 15 km/h. Daytime highs will reach minus 9, but wind chills will make it feel closer to -18 C.
