VIDEO: Alleged Costco parking lot assault leads to arrest in Ontario [Video]

A video posted online appears to have captured the moment of an alleged assault in an Ontario Costco parking lot.

The approximately one minute, 30 second video shows people arguing in the parking lot of a Costco on Brant Street in Burlington.

At one point, a man appears to hit the phone of the person recording.

Halton Regional Police told INsauga.com that the incident happened at around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday.

“Police attended in response to a dispute over a parking spot,” a police spokesperson said.

“During a verbal altercation, an adult male suspect knocked the female victim’s phone out of her hand.”

The man was arrested for assault.

The spokesperson said he was enrolled into adult diversion, which “is an alternative pre-charge program designed to divert selected low-risk adult offenders from the court system by holding them accountable for their offence through a variety of contracted initiatives.”
