Brace yourself as arctic air and extreme cold warnings loom across southern Ontario for Tuesday.

Multiple warnings, watches and advisories due to snow squalls and extreme cold weather were issued on Tuesday with Environment Canada saying some parts of Ontario could reach as low as -50 C with the wind chill.

Many of those warnings will carry over into Tuesday and Wednesday as an arctic air mass moves through Ontario.

In Toronto and Mississauga, Tuesday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries.

The daytime high for the GTA will be around -10 C but will feel more like -25 C in the morning and -19 C in the afternoon due to the wind chill.
