What’s being described as the largest winter storm to hit parts of the U.S. South in decades has already cancelled Tuesday flights between Houston and Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga, and officials here and south of the border say air travellers should brace for more delays and potential cancellations.

Pearson officials have reposted to social media several notifications from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and U.S. airports alerting air travellers to the possibility of delayed and cancelled flights throughout Tuesday as nasty winter weather grips many regions in various parts of the U.S.

Travellers scheduled to take flights out of Pearson bound for parts of the U.S. on Tuesday — including the West Coast — are being urged to check the status of their flight ahead of time.
