Georgia Power said more than 400 Georgia Power personnel were in the field in Brunswick on Wednesday.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — With a 6 p.m. – 7 a.m. curfew in place in Glynn County, officials are asking residents to stay inside and off the roads.

Thousands of residents were without power, many telling our First Coast News team they’ve been without power since 2am Wednesday morning. While people waited for power to be restored, some warmed up inside local restaurants and stores.

Chris Antsey is from New Jersey but he and his family spend January and February in St. Simons island. It caught them by surprise to see the weather in Georgia that they left up north.
