The Kitchenette in Frederick, Maryland says tariffs could drive up their costs.

FREDERICK, Md. — Are tariffs on the way?

This week President Trump threatened new tariffs on goods coming in from Mexico, Canada, and China.

But how could they affect things you buy?

We went to downtown Frederick, Maryland to get a main street view of potential tariff impacts. On Market Street, you’ll find Marien Hornyak inside her store ‘The Kitchenette’ with eyes on her products prices.

After eight years of selling cookware and kitchen gadgets, she’s learned a few lessons.

“It’s not always what I like, I have to follow the trends, I go to the houseware conventions and I learn what’s hot out there,” Hornyak said.

One of the biggest lessons, All those prices for pots and pans get measured by the price she gets for bulk orders from a wholesale dealer.

“For example, one of my companies used to say, ‘OK, we’ll give you free freight at $1000.’ Well, last year it …
