A soot-covered stairwell inside 35 Brock St. in Hamilton’s North End. A fire at the apartment tower on Jan. 26 left three dead, including two young children.

A fire that killed three people, including two children, in a North End apartment Sunday morning is not believed to be suspicious.

But Hamilton police and investigators from the Office of the Fire Marshal are expected to be at the 20-storey tower at 35 Brock St. for several days looking for the origin and cause of the fire that began inside the apartment where the children lived.
