SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Several fast-moving disturbances and fronts will push through over the next several days bringing bouts of precipitation and big swings in temps.

A cold front came in this morning with some drama, bringing snow squalls and gusty wind. Some wind gusts reported:

  • Mt Tom 72mph
  • Barnes, Westfield 60mph
  • Orange 56 mph
  • Chicopee 46 mph
  • Deerfield 45 mph

Clouds continue to increase tonight ahead of our next weather-maker, which will bring some snow to western Mass overnight.

An Alberta Clipper will bring a few hours of snow overnight from about 10 pm to 4 am. Most of us will pick up about 1-2 inches with isolated 3” amounts possible, especially in higher elevations. Expect a fluffy snow-easy to clear but may leave roads a bit icy for the morning commute. Temperatures will fall into the teens tonight then rise into the lower and middle 20’s by morning.
