Anytime you can’t watch your card get swiped for payment, you need to use a credit card, not a debit card.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Eating on the run is just a way of life. Going through the drive-thru and using a debit or credit card is more common than paying cash. However, a community crime watch Facebook page says customers are being taken advantage of. 

The Fighting Crime News and Who’s Wanted Facebook page covers Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, and Wilson counties and has 196,000 followers. This week, a post said, ‘Always use cash at drive-thrus or restaurants. Workers are taking photos of your card and using your numbers.’

The Endfield Police Department reposted the community crime page’s warning as well. The chief says he hasn’t had anyone report it happening in his town, but thought the warning should be passed along.
