Weekend weather: Sun and temperature drop expected in southern Ontario [Video]

A mix of sun, colder temperatures and snow or rain is forecast this weekend for southern Ontario.

Winter weather hit southern Ontario this week with blasts of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday prompting weather warnings and winter driving advisories.

Warmer weather, with a high of 0 C, was expected on Thursday.

The first weekend in February looks like it will be a roller coaster of temperatures.

Snow is back in the forecast on Friday with Environment and Climate Change Canada predicting a 70 per cent chance of rain or snow early in the afternoon then 70 per cent chance of snow late in the afternoon in Mississauga, Toronto and Brampton.

Around two to four cm of snow could fall in Burlington and Hamilton on Friday afternoon. And there is a 40 per cent chance of snow in Durham Region on Friday.
