Brilliant Catalyst Challenge

Ontario Tech and Lakeridge Health are hoping students at the Oshawa university can be the catalyst to finding solutions to transform health care in the region.

The students will be working with the Oshawa hospital to pitch ideas and develop solutions for health care issues as part of the Brilliant Catalyst Challenge, with the finalists getting their time in the spotlight Friday afternoon at the Energy Research Centre at the Oshawa main campus.

The initiative is part of the Partnership for Advanced Technology in Health Care (PATH) alliance between the university and the hospital group, focused on improving patient outcomes, access and sustainability in health-care services.

The Brilliant Catalyst Challenge allows students to showcase their creativity, exploring the potential of technologies like artificial intelligence to support health-care providers. In turn, Lakeridge Health mentors will gain innovative insights from students as they hone leadership skills for the future of health care …
