In what could be a farewell to her district, Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik, of New York’s 21st Congressional District, is making rounds in the North Country as part of a potential farewell tour. Stefanik, who was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, made a stop at the West Side Ballroom in Plattsburgh to express her gratitude to her supporters.”I’m truly overwhelmed by this unbelievable outpouring of love and support as we begin to close this truly incredible chapter and embark on a new one,” Stefanik said, reflecting on her time in Congress.
