A messy mix of winter weather is on the way as February kicks off, bringing fluctuating temperatures, snow and even a risk of freezing rain.

As of today (Feb. 2) Residents will wake up to mainly cloudy skies, with a bitter morning chill making temperatures feel as low as -13 C. Snow is expected to move in by late afternoon, bringing an accumulation between 2 and 4 cm.

Winds will pick up throughout the day, reaching up to 20 km/h, while temperatures gradually climb to a daytime high of minus 6.

The snowfall will ease by the evening. However, flurries will return overnight, accompanied by a risk of freezing rain. Brisk winds will persist at 15 km/h and temperatures will drop to minus 3, though the wind chill will make it feel closer to -6 C.
