FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – The Department of Transportation is saying road conditions for the Fairbanks area are fair and those conditions are consistently true for the Parks and Richardson Highways in Interior Alaska.

Heading north or west, however, conditions are challenging.

The first stretch of the Elliott and Dalton Highways are also labeled as having fair conditions, however, those conditions become very difficult further out.

Looking northeast, folks following the Yukon Quest have faced difficult road conditions that remain difficult between milepost 45 and 80, with white out conditions reported along the peaks on Sunday. After that the road returns to fair conditions.

As a reminder for those driving in difficult conditions, slow down and keep an eye out for wildlife that may also come on to the road.
