Businesses prepare for potential tariffs on good from Canada, Mexico [Video]

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The threat of tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China has local businesses evaluating their imports. 

On Monday, the U.S. agreed to a one-month delay for the proposed 25% tariff on Mexican imports after the country’s president agreed to put 10,000 extra soldiers at the border. The U.S. also agreed to a 30-day delay with Canada after reaching an agreement related to border cooperation. 

President Trump has said the tariffs are to stop the flow of drugs and undocumented immigrants into the U.S. 

In a post on Truth Social, he acknowledged there could be some pain for consumers but said it would be worth the price that must be paid.
